While working on the design direction requested, I coincidentally came across a broader conversation circulating on the web about Seiichi Miyake. He is the engineer and inventor who designed the tactile pavement warnings patterned v bright yellow truncated domes called “Tenji bricks” or “Tactile bricks/blocks”. Here is a concept sketch of the book jacket using Pantone's Safety Yellow Tenji bricks with the type sitting on an angle indicative of an 8.3% grade, the maximum slope for a hand-propelled wheelchair ramp.
